Learning From The Past

It was not until I turned 50 and looked back at my life, that all the things that I learnt at that time made sense. I could see exactly what had caused my very eventful life and knowing what I know now would have changed so much. I am not looking back with any regrets, far from it, but I do know that the information I have got and the wisdom I have gained from making mistakes [failing] is so valuable.

Why do people readily go to others to learn a myriad of disciplines and skills, but when it comes to life, they ignore people who have lived a life and in many cases do not even bother to ask. Even someone who has lived a very basic life will have an enormous amount of information on different problems.

The thing is though that you must have faith in the person you ask, because they may have gone through life just making out that they had achieved all they were capable of, so that information, may not be all that helpful. It is not until you really put yourself out there and are prepared to make mistakes in the search of your goal, that you really learn.

One of my success exercises, is to try and fail 10 times in a row. Believe it or not that is virtually impossible. Therefore success is always borne out of failure. So my advice is to fail as often and as quick as you can. Make sure though that all your attempts are leading you towards your goal. Do not set out to fail, that would be stupid, but do not let failure keep you down, failures, really are the stepping stones to success.

It seems in todays world we spend less time teaching our youth the basics of a successful life than we do teaching them the capital cities of various countries or the major rivers of the world. In a society that now has access to virtually every bit of art, knowledge, music, books etc., at the push of a button, do you not think that some time should be spent learning lifes intricacies from someone who has travelled the road so that the peaks and troughs of the journey make some sense.

We wonder why we get confused, but as things change so quickly we tend to think that we need different information to deal with them. The information in truwords is timeless and infact the only art is taking the information and putting it in a way that is easily digestable.

Every bit of information you could possibly want is, as I said readily available, so why do you need a programme like truwords. The simple answer is that when you stumble across something that you do not understand, you will grasp things 100 times better if you have someone to answer questions and put you back on the track.
